PANEL 1: Nathan also looks surprised. NATHAN: It doesn't? PANEL 2: Mai slams her hands down on the table. MAI: No! Because she'd told me a few months before that she'd found a big project to work on! PANEL 3: Mai stands, starting to pace and wave her hands as she talks. MAI: She was struggling to find roles at the time and- and then she found one and she suddenly got really busy. There's no way she wasn't coming to set! PANEL 4: Nathan stands up to follow Mai. As the two are talking, neither seem to notice Eddie suddenly slapping a hand to his own mouth and trying to tug that hand away. NATHAN: You're sure it was a project with the Carters? MAI: It had to be. She mentioned them a few times, never said what it was exactly but I can't see it NOT being them! PANEL 5: Nathan gets closer to Mai. NATHAN: There would have been records of this! Wilbur couldn't find any! MAI: And that's not suspicious to you? PANEL 6: Mai puts a hand to her head, trying to think. MAI: Her last phone call, it had to be someone at the studio! PANEL 7: Nathan doesn't seem convinced. NATHAN: Wilbur said her last phone call was from an old payphone, remember? MAI: I know, but-- PANEL 8: The two look back behind Nathan, shocked as Eddie suddenly speaks off screen. EDDIE: They were lying outta their asses.
