PANEL 1: Back in the present, Eddie grips his own wrist tightly. EDDIE: ...And then-- what? Dead end? No leads from there? PANEL 2: Mai scratches at her face, looking off to the side. MAI: N-No there were a few! But... PANEL 3: Eddie looks over Nathan's shoulder at the notepad he's writing on. Nathan looks away, a guilty expression on his face. Eddie seems surprised by what he sees. MAI: Well, you know... PANEL 4: We see what is written on the notepad, which is a series of dates noting significant events in Eileen's disappearance, such as the day she disappeared, when the family contacted the Vargas's, a series of interviews, and finally the case being called off. The dates are not specified and are just represented by a series of X's. NATHAN: ...Yeah, I know. PANEL 5: An overhead shot of the three sitting together in the living room. NATHAN: But, uh...yeah. We had a lot of leads back then, but most of them lead nowhere. I even got to talk to the Carters once. MAI: Oh, yeah, I remember my mom and dad mentioning that. They never said what for, though. NATHAN: Probably because it was another dead end. PANEL 6: Nathan looks down at his notebook. NATHAN: They told me Eileen just stopped showing up to set one day. As far as their records show, that's exactly what happened. PANEL 7: Mai looks surprised by this. MAI: ...Wait, no, that doesn't make sense.
