We switch back to the present, returning the art style to normal PANEL 1: Mai, surrounded by void, looks down at the floor MAI: …She didn’t get to keep that promise. PANEL 2: Nathan avoids eye contact with Mai, but looks sympathetic. Mai also avoids Nathan's eye. NATHAN: I’m sorry. MAI: I-It’s fine. PANEL 3: Eddie looks concerned. EDDIE: Who was she calling? Or did someone call her? MAI: Not a clue, I thought it was her boss but they were cleared. PANEL 4: We see Nathan's notepad with the writing: What we know. -Eileen took a call the night she disappeared. Caller unknown on it. NATHAN: Wilbur didn’t know either. PANEL 5: A close up of Nathan's eye, gazing downwards NATHAN: I remember he drove himself crazy trying to find any leads. PANEL 6: We flashback once more. All we see is a hand holding a pen, writing on a handful of papers. There is a small framed photo of a young boy with big, fluffy hair and a t-shirt with a sun on it on the desk. The environment is entirely in monochrome greys, but the person writing is colored in. They have medium brown skin.
