PANEL 1: Mai stares at this display, terrified. Off screen, the ghost shouts GO, DOLLY! RUN!!! PANEL 2: Mai looks nervous, yet determined. PANEL 3: Mai dashes past the ghost and the stranger, both of them staring after her. The ghost looks shocked by this action, he shouts WH-- ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! PANEL 4: He flies after her, shouting WHAT'RE YOU DOING!? Mai begins to cough and gag from the smog. She says Something's-- something's going on in this place, I've gotta figure out what it is! The ghost replies in disbelief Do you have to, though?!
PANEL 1: Mai backs away, still on the floor. She looks shocked. PANEL 2: A close up of the stranger's eye. PANEL 3: The stranger reaches for something in their pocket. PANEL 4: The stranger pulls out a purple and golden revolver, aiming it at Mai and cocking it. PANEL 5: The ghost stares on in shock. PANEL 6: The ghosts takes out a cigarette, quickly inhaling. PANEL 7: The ghost flies out in front of Mai, exhaling an extreme amount of smog, filling the room and catching the stranger off guard.
PANEL 1: Some time down the hall, Mai stops in her tracks. She is staring down at something on the floor, something the ghost also notices. PANEL 2: There is a strange, glowing yellow ball on the floor. PANEL 3: Mai picks it up, it's small enough to fit in her palm. PANEL 4: Mai suddenly looks up, startled as the ghost shouts off screen HEY- HEY, WATCH OUT! PANEL 5: A shadowy figure is looming over Mai. They seem to be wearing cowboy attire, but the only trait of theirs that is completely visible are their glowing purple eyes.
PANEL 1: We see down the hallway. Nothing seems out of place, but there is a door hanging open. PANEL 2: The spirit raises an eyebrow, sarcastically saying That's a door, miss. Mai looks annoyed by this. PANEL 3: Mai holds up her radio, as if bracing for something. She says That wasn't open when I walked into your room. PANEL 4: The two jump, startled by distant footsteps. PANEL 5: Mai expression turns serious. She tells the ghost Stay quiet. The ghost looks at her and nods. PANEL 6: Mai begins walking down the hall.
PANEL 1: The ghost phases through the wall, looking rather frantic. He shouts after Mai Don't go runnin' off, Dolly! Maybe I can help ya! Mai keeps walking, motioning her hand in annoyance. She replies You JUST said you didn't know other ghosts were here! PANEL 2: The spirit catches up with her, floating in front of her. Mai's Spec activates, both of them are colored in a light green. The spirit keeps rambling, saying I- I mean-- sure! Yeah! Yeah! I...don't tend to leave that room back there all too much! But that don't mean I can't help! You can't see ghosts, I am ghosts, we make a good team! PANEL 4: Mai looks away, nervous. She says Look I- I know you've got something you probably need help with, you wouldn't feel so...panicked otherwise, but I- I should really-- PANEL 5: Mai suddenly stops, staring ahead of herself. The spirit says I'm just sayin'-- PANEL 6: Mai cuts him off, holding a finger to her lips. She tries to look in his direction, but looks the wrong way. She says Wait, shut up for a second. The ghost looks at her and says Aw, c'mon-- only for her to cut him off again, saying Look at that. Mai is pointing ahead at something.
PANEL 1: Mai looks away from the spirit as she talks. MAI: Do you know anything about the disappearances here? SPIRIT: I just told ya I never even met Charl-- PANEL 2: Mai looks a bit frustrated. MAI: No! Disappearances of ghosts! PANEL 3: Mai grips her radio. MAI: Spirits have been going missing around Elysium... PANEL 4: The spirit looks up, he has an uneasy expression on his face. MAI: And some of 'em were probably haunting this place too? PANEL 5: The spirit turns around and forces a smile. Mai looks dumbfounded. SPIRIT: There were other ghosts here? PANEL 6: Mai walks out of the room without saying a word, much to the spirit's shock. SPIRIT: WAIT WAIT HEY!
PANEL 1: Mai looks anxious. MAI: N-Not that-- I-I mean, I get it. PANEL 2: Mai looks away and starts nervously scratching at her cheek. MAI: It's gotta be really annoying having dumb kids like me pop in all the time, yeah? I- I'm sorry-- PANEL 3: The spirit goes back to digging through the crate, looking uninterested. SPIRIT: Ain't no big deal, Dolly. Just don't go causin' me any trouble. MAI: R-Right...uh... PANEL 4: Mai holds out a hand as she talks, still looking a bit on edge. MAI: If you don't wanna be bothered, I get it, but I do have some questions. PANEL 5: A birds eye view of the room. The spirit continues digging through the crate, alerting Mai to his position in the room. She looks at the crate as he digs through it and stays by the door. SPIRIT: If you're about t' ask me if I've seen your dead grandma or that Carter kid or whatever, the answer is no. Never seen no grannies and I never even met that little scamp anyway. I died WAY b'fore he was born. MAI: N-No! It's not that.
PANEL 1: The spirit hovers in circles around Mai, who looks deeply unamused with this. SPIRIT: 'S that one 'a them fake li'l radios or whatever? What kinda bullshit do I have to say to get you outta here, huh? PANEL 2: The spirit reels back in shock as Mai responds to him. MAI: ...I can actually hear you, just so you know. SPIRIT: HEY WHAT THE FUCK-- PANEL 3: The spirit gets up in Mai's face, though she doesn't make eye contact with him. SPIRIT: Can you see me? PANEL 4: Mai smirks and holds up her radio. The spirit looks dumbfounded. MAI: No, but I can hear you because of my fake li'l radio.
PANEL 1: Mai pokes her head into this room. PANEL 2: We see a spirit hovering in the room, rifling through one of the many boxes scattered throughout. PANEL 3: A closer look at this spirit. He's a young white man with a large pompadour and leather jacket. He's holding a cigarette in his mouth, a small trail of black liquid oozing from between his lips. PANEL 4: The spirit finally notices Mai, whipping his head around to face her. PANEL 5: The spirit throws his head back in exasperation, taking the cigarette out of his mouth. SPIRIT: Ah, shit, just another ghost hunter, huh? PANEL 6: Mai looks around the room, trying to find the spirit. SPIRIT: If I gotta deal with one more'a these I'ma flip my lid.
PANEL 1: Mai holds the radio out, hunching over as she gazes up. MAI: Are there any spirits here tonight? PANEL 2: The radio begins to crackle. PANEL 3: Soon, the sounds become clearer: Whistling. PANEL 4: Mai walks further down the hall. PANEL 5: Mai begins to cough as smoke wafts into the hallway. PANEL 6: She looks up, the smoke still trailing past her. PANEL 6: The whistling continues, we see the smoke is coming out of a room with an ajar door.
